SPORTS & LEISURE: Club Joumana: Snooker & Pool: Catering to the enthusiasts of this strategic sport, a stately Private Snooker & Billiards Room is located on the upper level of the Club House. Pool can also be played daily in Club Joumana. Fitness: Avid Tennis fans can practice their serves even after dark on the four floodlit Tennis Courts. The Squash and Badminton Courts are located inside the air-conditioned Club House for year-round play. A well-appointed Gymnasium, as well as Jacuzzi, Sauna and Massage Rooms are housed in the Club House. Available activities fit for all ages include Table Tennis, also in the Club House Beach Volleyball. The Jebel Ali Shooting Club: Pistol Shooting: Featuring 10 indoor fully computerised Pistol Shooting Lanes, visitors can select from a collection of competition-standard Semi Automatic Pistols and Revolvers. The fully computerised pistol range accommodates 10 individual 27-metre-long lanes. Bulls Eye boards are used as targets and one can even try silhouette shooting by artificial moonlight. All shooting is supervised by a team of fully qualified, professional instructors, who are on hand to offer expert advice on target aim and reloading the pistols. Clay Shooting: Clay Shooting is also available on five outdoor floodlit Clay Shooting ranges, built to international standards. The range is equipped to cater for all seven Clay shooting disciplines including Olympic Skeet and Trapshooting. In Trapshooting, contestants fire twelve-gauge Shotguns at the moving targets from a series of five positions, called stations, located 15 metres behind the trap. Skeet Shooting offers a greater number of shooting angles, with two traps, located 36.58 metres apart, releasing the clay targets alternately or simultaneously along fixed intersecting paths. Laser Shooting: A Cinetronic Firearms Simulator Room gives beginners the opportunity to be safely introduced to the art of aiming and shooting. It also provides endless entertainment to children of all ages, who can take on the role of a police officer in a life-like situation. Computerised reports of the shooter's speed of reaction and decision-making accuracy are available. The range has also been built to strict international safety standards in adherence to the latest International Shooting Regulations and is equipped to hold international grade competitions on the premises. Corporate Entertainment: The Jebel Ali Shooting Club is the ideal venue for company day outings. Groups are received with an introduction to the club and safety instructions, followed by a shooting session and mini competition including trophies and medals. Shooting Academy: Professional coaching is offered at the Jebel Ali Shooting Academy, for both individuals and groups. Providing all shooting equipment, including guns, ammunition, shooting jacket and hearing protection, the instructors introduce aspiring shooters by covering the basic safety rules of shooting safety and gun handling. Peaco Children Club: The Children's Club is open daily to entertain Junior Guests with Movies, Games and Competitions, including Beach Games and Playground time. The activities take place under close supervision by professional staff and instructors, who cater to the juniors' needs and wishes, while keeping them interested in the activities at hand. Be it Castle Bouncing, Sand Castle competitions, Face Painting, Drawing, or just watching Cartoons, the children are always entertained. The Clowns and Magicians have a hand in keeping the kids happy. Golf Resort: The Jebel Ali Hotel boasts a full 9-hole par 36 Golf Course, designed by renowned Golf Course architect Peter Harradine and situated within the idyllic grounds of the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort. The Club House, based at Club Joumana, overlooks the Marina and the first tee. Every aspect of the game can be practiced at the Old Stables driving range. The Resort Course is both beautifully stunning and a fair and exciting challenge to any level of player. It is also the host of the Annual Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa Challenge Match, the curtain raiser for the European Tour Dubai Desert Classic. Each hole is unique, with exotic trees and shrubs, wooden gazebos, panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf, and the company of peacocks, guinea fowl and partridges freely roam the course. The availability of four tees creates a different aspect and playability to each hole and the opportunity to play and 18-hole round. Arranged on different elevations, the Course features a large central saltwater that comes into play on five holes. The Bermuda grass greens and fairways are well manicured to the championship standard the Hotel has maintained. Golf Academy Instruction: The Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa exceptional practice facilities and quality instruction provide the prefect learning environment for the new, intermediate and advanced players. Video lessons are available at the indoor, air-conditioned Swing Analysis Room enabling the instructors to compare and analyze your swing with the top professionals of the world. All aspects of tuition are covered by the PGA professionals, who have designed specific programmes to cover every area. Individual, group and clinic instruction is available 7 days a week. |
