The history of the Palafitte Hotel lies in the future.
It opened its doors in the Spring of 2002 on one of the most prized sites of the
Three Lakes Region, in Monruz, on the very edge of the Lake of Neuchatel, in
Switzerland. Its state-of-the-art technology makes the Palafitte Hotel a vision
of what a hotel should be while still meeting the rigorous requirements of a
five-star establishment.
HistoryThe Palafitte Hotel was originally the fruit of the co-operation
between the Sandoz Family Foundation, the Lausanne Hotel School and Siemens and
was designed by Kurt Hofmann, architects.
As the Palafitte Hotel is located in Monruz, in one of the most prized
sites in the Three Lakes Region, on the outskirts of the city of Neuchβtel,
it is easily accessible.
- By plane: The Hotel is situated 1,5 hours from Basle-Mulhouse
Airport,1 hour from Bern-Belp Airport, 1,5 hours from Geneva-Cointrin
Airport and 2hrs 20 minutes from Zurich-Kloten Airport.
- By Road: from the A5 Motorway Geneva-Lausanne-Yverdon-Neuchâtel,
Neuchâtel-Monruz exit A1 Motorway Zurich-Bern-Neuchâtel, Neuchâtel-Maladière
exit, then head for Neuchâtel-Monruz.
- By Train: to get to the Hotel by train you need 1hr 27 minutes from
Basel, 31 minutes from Bern, 1hr 14 minutes from Geneva, 47 minutes from
Lausanne, 1hr 44 minutes from Zurich and 4hrs 5 minutes from Paris
The Le Colvert Restaurant invites you on a marvellous
culinary journey in a lakeside atmosphere. The Chef proposes a gastronomic tour
of local specialities that changes with the seasons. From May to September, a
menu of fresh food is served on the terrace, very close to the water's edge. the
restaurants capacity is 80 seats and it is open daily from 07:00 to 10:30 from
Breakfast, from 12:00 to 14:00 for Lunch and from 19:30 to 22:00 for Dinner.
The Le Bar is an elegant and cosy area where the
atmosphere changes throughout the day and way into the night. Here both intimate
conversations and business appointments can be drawn out in a magic atmosphere
around the fireplace. Open daily from 10:30 to midnight.
