Responsible for the modern interior are Klas Litzén of the design agency R.O.O.M., Peter Ågren of Millimeter Arkitekter and owners Ralf Thalén and Claes Hanngren of Stockhuset AB.

J is a sailing term that comes from the designation of a measurement rule used in the 1930s when Sir Thomas Lipton’s British gentlemanly fleet faced the American fighting spirit in the America’s Cup race. Sailing experts still believe today that the J-Class yachts are among the world’s best constructed boats!
After a fifteen-minute boat trip from central Stockholm you come ashore at Hotel J Nacka Strand. Those of you who have visited the American sailing paradise of Newport may perhaps have a slight sense of déjà vu. That’s not surprising, because the Restaurant is inspired by a summer house in Newport, and Hotel's name comes from the America’s Cup. It takes about 15 minutes by car from central Stockholm to Hotel J. If you want to take public transport, buses go from Slussen. You can take a boat from Nybrokajen.
