Until about 100 years ago, Björknäs, with its beautiful position by Lake
Revsundssjön, was the site of a tenement soldier's smallholding. This was then turned into
accommodation for the manager of the important local timber industry, logs were floated from
here down to the coast. The venerable and industrious old steamer, Alma, made regular stops at
the jetty at Björknäs.
Today Björknäsgården is a modern Hotel offering discerning guests high standards of
accommodation, comfort and service. The charming Hotel with personal service from the attentive
host and hostess. The historic building with many reminders of its distinctive
heritage.
The Hotel Bjorknasgarden is located on the shores of Lake Revsundssjön, in a garden
crisscrossed with alleys and walkways. The River Gimån, famous for its excellent fishing, is
just a stone's throw away. The Hotel is 2 km from the E14 between Sundsvall and
Östersund.
The beautiful mirrored walls and antiques provide an elegant backdrop to the delicacies
composed by the chefs. The Hotel's history encompasses the era when huge logs were floated
down Sweden rivers, evidence can be seen in the venerable oak which supports the salad table.
The grounds outside the windows and the gentle shores of Lake Revsundssjon create an additional
sense of harmony.
