La Posta Vecchia in Palo Laziale is a seventeenth century villa, sensitively transformed into a luxury hotel in 1990. From 1992 till today, it is a member of the Relais & Chateaux Association. The Villa overlooks the Tyrrenean sea and is surrounded by 15 acres of Italian gardens. An archaeological museum containing many interesting Roman relics can be found on the premises.
The Hotel is located 37 km from Rome's Fiumicino Airport, 30 minutes from the Port of Civitavecchia and it is 40 minutes from the centre of Rome Transport: Limousine and helicopter transfer can be arranged.
The Cesar Restaurant: At the Cesar Restaurant, one can enjoy the inspired Mediterranean cuisine while looking out over the azure sea. Much of the produce used by the Chef comes from La Posta Vecchia's organic vegetable garden.

Getty Suite
This is the largest suite in the hotel and was J.P. Getty’s private wing when he resided in the Villa. It boasts 16th and 17th century furniture, an oak-wood ceiling, King-size bed, an over 200 sq. foot white marble bathroom and a wall of windows overlooking the sea. The sitting room has a floor-to-ceiling maple-wood 17th century wardrobe writing desk with a complimentary laptop and Wi-Fi acces.
Medici Suite
It is said that Mr. Getty’s companion resided in this suite. The sitting room includes a hand-decorated fireplace and a bookcase displaying a rare collection of Meissen plates. The Spanish 17th century King-size bed and pink marble tub embraced by two marble stairways highlight the outstanding luxury which is the hallmark of the Villa.
Castello Suite
The view of Odescalchi Castle gives the name to this Senior Suite which also overlooks the sea, where fisherman can be spotted diving for squid during the summer months. There is a precious collection of 18th century prints illustrating Roman castles lining one wall; the hand-carved green marble tub and sink in the bathroom are truly unique examples of Italian 19th century craftsmanship.
Red Suite
This Suite has an enchanting view over the lush Italian Garden welcoming the guests at the front of the mansion. From the Red Suite windows, you have the feeling of dominating the entire property. The Red Suite derives its name from the main colour of the room furniture. It features two bath rooms: one is completely covered in mirrors and blatantly represents J. Paul Getty’s flair in home décor.
Junior Suite
There are two Junior Suites on the first floor which can be reached by lift. Large windows overlook the manicured garden and the sea. Dimensions vary from 40 to 55 mq (430-600 sq.ft). And are furnished with 17th century Italian antiques. Each bathroom has a large bathtub.
Junior Suite Tower
Both the north and south towers have their own suites which cannot be reached by lift . The furnishings are contemporary and large enough to accommodate families (65 mq or 700 sq.ft). Each has one master bedroom and a living room with space for an extra bed. Views of the sea from mediaeval-style windows and wood-beamed ceilings add character and charm.
Superior Deluxe Room Sea View
There are three Superior Deluxe Sea View rooms on the first floor which can be reached by lift. All have views of the sea. Furnished in Renaissance style with antiques from J.P. Getty’s private collection, these rooms vary in dimensions
between 27-38 mq (290-410 sq.ft.). The bathrooms have travertine, marble or ceramic tiled showers or bathtubs. They are exclusively for double use.
Superior Deluxe Room
There are three Superior Deluxe rooms and they can be located on the ground floor or on the first floor which can be reached by lift. All of them have views of the Italian gardens. Furnished in Renaissance style with antiques from J.P. Getty’s private collection, these rooms vary in dimensions between 27-38 mq (290-410 sq.ft.). The bathrooms have travertine, marble or ceramic tiled showers or bathtubs. They are exclusively for double use.
Double Room Standard
These five rooms are on the second floor and cannot be reached by lift. They have either garden or sea views and are furnished in a contemporary style. They vary in size from 30-40 mq or 320-430 sq ft. Ceramic tiled bathrooms with showers or tubs. Two of these rooms can be adjoining creating a small apartment with two bedrooms
and two bathrooms suitable for families or couples traveling together.
