Owned by the Fiorentino family since 1834, and still operated by its
descendents, the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria is poised where it is
said one of the villas of the Emperor Augustus once stood. This renowned five-star
luxurious hotel is perched atop the cliffs, commanding a spectacular view of the
Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Beautiful private gardens and a five-acre
orange grove surround the hotel providing a peaceful and natural environment
exclusive to the guests. Its gates open into the main square in Sorrento.
Refined guest accommodations evoke the atmosphere of a gracious private home,
furnished with authentic period furniture. The elegantly furnished suites
include the famous Pompei Suite, the world-known Enrico Caruso Suites, the
luxurious Imperial Suite and the impressive Princess Margaret Suite. A private
lift takes guests down to the port where they can take the public hydrofoil for
excursions to Capri, Ischia and Naples.
HistoryThe Romans, with their unfailing eye for beauty, were among the first to
appreciate the spectacular scenery and temperate climate of Surrentum, perched
on the cliffs of the Sorrento Peninsula in an area that also lies along the
famous coast road known as the “Amalfitana”.
One of Italy’s leading Grand Hotels, the Excelsior Vittoria is
located in Sorrento, the place where it is said that the Roman Emperor Augustus
had a beautiful villa with magnificent views of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of
Naples.
The Hotel dates back to 1834, a time when Italy was not yet a unified
country. From the day it opened the establishment has been owned and run by the
Fiorentino family, one of the few founding hotelier families remaining in Italy
today.
The Excelsior Vittoria is located in the town centre of Sorrento on
the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples. The building is secluded from the main
square by private gardens with citrus groves. Guests pass through the main gate
and through the gardens to find the Hotel right on the seafront of Sorrento.
Sorrento is located on the Peninsula of the same name (the northern stretch
of the Amalfi Coast), 55 km from Naples by road, or 14 nautical miles across the
water. The International Airports of Naples and Rome are 50 km and 250 km away,
respectively.
The cuisine at Vittoria is an expert blend of seasonal flavours and
fragrances. The many tempting dishes, ranging from local Campania specialities
to haute cuisine prepared by the skilled hands of the multiple award-winning
chef Vincenzo Galano, can be relished in either the monumental "Vittoria" dining
room where you can enjoy a delightful lunch under the vaults of a majestic
frescoed ceiling, or in the summer, on the open-air "Bosquet" terrace,
overlooking the Gulf where you can glimpse the mauve shades of Vesuvius through
the baluster.
Its exquisite, distinctive rooms and terraces make EXCELSIOR VITTORIA a superior
choice for successful banquets and gala dinners.
Vegetarian menus can also be provided on request

garden, sits the Pool restaurant, open from June to September. With a

specialising in pizza for wood-fired ovens and pasta, as well as the many local
specialities that Campania is renowned for the world over. Alongside these
delicacies, you can also enjoy grilled meat and fish, fresh salads, icecream and
homemade desserts served with premium wines.

live music.
