The traditional little village of Vrisses lies approx. 30 km from Chania town. The old
village square with its tall graceful plane trees, cluster of tavernas and kafenions is the
perfect place to observe Cretan village life. Vrisses is also well renowned for its
particularly delicious yogurt. The four recently built Aspalathos villas are about 3 km from
the village, set high on a hillside, with magnificent panoramic views over the tapestry of
rolling countryside dotted with tiny villages, and on to the distant sea; on a clear day one
can see all the way to Rethymno.
The village of Georgioupolis, approx. 10 km away, has a beautiful long silken sandy beach,
and a good choice of tavernas, shops and tourist amenities. The glorious country side and the
peaceful position of Aspalathos are simply
delightful, and offer the very best setting for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday.
The villa grounds are rich with shrubs, flowers, and young trees, and are surrounded by
mellow stone walls.
Each villa is suitable for up to 4 people, has traditional red tiled roofs, wooden beamed
ceilings, terracotta tiled floors, and painted wooden shutters. There is air conditioning in
both bedroom and living room, included in the price.
Villa Maria has its own private swimming pool of 50 sqm, set to one side of the
house, and from the pool terraces there are glorious unrestricted vistas. There is a spacious
open plan living/dining area, with air conditioning, a well equipped kitchenette with coffee
machine, large fridge freezer and a full size cooker. Off this there is a pretty bathroom with
small bath/shower/WC, and a washing machine. The master bedroom has air conditioning, a double
bed and handsome built in wardrobes. A stone arch with inset wood framed glass doors, leads off
the main living area to a further living room/bedroom, with a big stone fireplace, and built in
sofas, which can comfortably double as a second bedroom.
Villas Vaggelio, Emmanouela and Argyro These 3 villas share a delightful 55 sqm
swimming pool, and are all similar in design to Villa Maria. Villa Vaggelio is exactly the same
as Villa Maria, while Emmanouela and Argyro, are raised and reached via a flight of stone
steps, while beneath them there are open storage areas.
