Open All Year... Welcome to the Schlosshotel Kronberg - a house with history. The Empress Frederick, daughter of England`s Queen Victoria, built it between 1889 and 1894, after the death of her husband, the Emperor Frederick. She lived here until her death in 1901.

General Information

Welcome to the Schlosshotel Kronberg – a house with history. The Empress Frederick, daughter of England’s Queen Victoria, built it between 1889 and 1894, after the death of her husband, the Emperor Frederick. She lived here until her death in 1901.

Today you can enjoy these unique surroundings as a hotel guest. Savour the peace and exclusiveness of this castle and its extensive, idyllic grounds. Had the poet Oscar Wilde stayed in the Schlosshotel, he would have been happy. He was after all a modest man. He demanded only the best.

Location

The Schlosshotel is situated just outside of Kronberg – a picturesque little town in the Taunus Mountains with a well-preserved old town centre. With Frankfurt and Wiesbaden still within easy reach, guests can relax here away from the day’s hectic activity enjoying the scenery and countryside so typical of Germany.

A magnificent park surrounds the Schlosshotel. The size of this private garden with its the tall majestic trees, many from exotic parts of the world, invite guests to enjoy a stroll. The rhododendrons in full bloom, usually typical of English gardens, are a reminder of the Empress’ heritage. The rose garden, which is kept in the Italian style, is also exceptional. The park includes one of Germany’s most splendid golf courses, a challenger to any golfer.

Food & Beverages

The cuisine of the Schlosshotel is not only renowned for its classical dishes. As is to be expected of the Hotel’s high standards set here, the chef has also incorporated the modern influences of today’s culinary art. From impeccably served Breakfast, or Afternoon Tea at weekends – in good English tradition – to festive evening meal, the hotel guest will find everything expected from an exceptional hotel.

The extensive wine list deserves particular attention. It carries many noble vintages, including wines from the Hotel’s own vineyard “Prinz von Hessen”.

Jimmy’s Bar:

Jimmy΄s, the American bar is a meeting point for our hotel and local guests. The Bar is not only a pleasure for art lovers, because of the only original 'Turner' in Germany, but also an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone and with Piano Music during the evening.

Accommodation

Many rooms still reflect the Empress’ lifestyle and personality. Each room has a charm and elegance of its own. Guests should not just use the rooms – they are there to be enjoyed.

Here, one is surrounded by her furniture and her works of art. Many of the paintings in the house are from the Empress’ own hand. It goes without saying that all the rooms of the Schlosshotel have one thing in common: the comfort and style of a luxury hotel.

The Schlosshotel offers Standard, Medium & Deluxe Single & Double Rooms and a Suite.
