Average temperatures:
Corsica enjoys a Mediterranean climate full of nuances due to its altitude, latitude,
maritime environment and winds. Dazzling bright, radiantly sunny summers are scorching hot
(40°c) and dry, while winters are particularly mild near the shores (18°c). Springtime is warm
and fragrantly flowered, and autumn is most pleasant at altitudes below 600 m. Whatever the
season, Corsica means sunshine. Ajaccio in particular, holds the record for all France with
nearly 2900 hours of sunshine per year.
Winter (December to March) : 13 - 18° C/ 56 - 65° F... fresh evenings. Average water
temperature : 15° C/ 57° F.
Spring and Autumn: April, May, October and November : 18 - 25° C/ 65 - 77° F light clothing.
Average water temperature : 15 - 20° C/ 59 - 68° F). Summer (June to September) : 25 - 35° C/
