Open All Year... Just the right blend of five-star luxury, classical architecture and seclusion, the enchanting Anassa is set within some of the most pristine countryside in the Mediterranean.

General Information

Just the right blend of five-star luxury, classical architecture and seclusion, the enchanting Anassa is set within some of the most pristine countryside in the Mediterranean, in a location overlooking one of the finest beaches in Cyprus and beyond to the Akamas peninsula and the famous Baths of Aphrodite.

Anassa means ‘Queen’ in ancient Greek, a fitting name for this truly majestic property. Guest villas exude the sleepy charm of an ancient Byzantine village; all rooms are extraordinarily spacious, and all have balconies with panoramic sea views. Some suites have private plunge pools and whirlpools on sea-facing terraces.

Anassa boasts four outstanding restaurants and the newly refurbished Thalassa Spa, which specializes in the very latest health and beauty treatments, uses products by the forward-thinking Organic Pharmacy whose ingredients are 100% chemical free. With both outdoor and indoor pools, Anassa works equally well as a summer and a winter retreat. During the brief and mild Cyprus winter (average temperature 17oC or 63oF), guests can recline on daybeds by the indoor pool and enjoy the Spa's healthy cuisine. A sailing boat is also available for charter, in which guests can enjoy private cruises sailing around the Akamas peninsula.

Location

The gently rolling hills and ancient vineyards of central Cyprus gradually give way, as you drive towards the island's north-westerly tip, to the wild and dramatic beauty of the Akamas Peninsula, named after the mythical son of Theseus.

Carpeted in the spring with wild orchids and cyclamen, this lyrical Homeric landscape is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parts of the island. It is a landscape fit for the Gods and so it comes as no surprise to learn that it was here that Aphrodite, who loved to bathe in the sweet waters of a local spring, first set eyes on Adonis.

Secluded on the edge of the proposed Akamas nature reserve, alongside the unspoilt little town of Polis and the charming fishing village of Latchi, yet still only a short drive away from the bustle of Paphos, you will find one of the most elegant and luxurious hotels of the Mediterranean: Anassa.

Anassa is a mere 45 minutes by car from Pafos Airport ,PFO, and 2 hours from Larnaca International Airport

Food & Beverages

Concept: Cyprus is a varied and seasonal country. The culinary concepts and taste at the Anassa are based on seasonal influences: influences of hotel garden herbs, farm fresh produce sourced from the local villages around Polis, and recipes which anticipate the guests desires. New for this year, the executive chef, Ashley Goddard has created new buffet menus, the Pelagos show kitchen, and totally energised the culinary approach to locally infused dishes, with his motto "Choice for the Guests". Vegetarian options are available in all restaurants.

Basiliko

The signature gourmet restaurant of Anassa. With a stone staircase descending into a stone cavern, Basiliko is the perfect setting to enjoy either a romantic dinner for two, or a cozy dinner among friends.

New Cyprus cuisine is celebrated in Basiliko in an unconventional and spontaneous way, using the bounty of local ingredients. An exclusive nine course gourmet menu with wine pairing is offered once a week. Basiliko is entirely non-smoking but guests may enjoy a cigar or cigarette on the outside patio. Please note that there is limited seating at Basiliko, so advance bookings are recommended.

Helios

Helios, the Mediterranean gastronomic restaurant specializes in handmade pasta, fresh seafood, local and imported meats. Daily chef's menu and an extensive à la carte menu with healthy and vegetarian options are also available. Some sample dishes are chargrilled local ostrich tenderloin on garlic and lemon mash potato and truffle oil jus. Meals may be enjoyed on the outdoor terrace, weather permitting.

Amphora

Amphora specializes in locally infused cuisine and fresh seasonal choices with daily changing buffet menus. Sample dishes include locally inspired pizza - minced lamb with herbs on crisp bread, yoghurt cream and local Mache. Breakfast and buffet dinners are available here.

Children's menus are available, and meals are served on the outdoor terrace, weather permitting.

Pelagos

Pelagos is Anassa's pool-side dining restaurant, and is the perfect setting for casual al fresco dining. Pelagos has been recently re-designed and now features an open show kitchen with live cooking using a lava stone grill. The emphasis is on light Mediterranean cuisine, and freshly caught fish from the sea, e.g. chargrilled sea bass fillet with roasted tomato and local olive ragout.

Lunch and dinner à la carte menus are available, as well as snacks. Please note that Pelagos is an outdoor restaurant and from November to March is only open during the day weather-permitting

Village Square :In the Village Square many outdoor events are held throughout the summer, such as private barbeques and exclusive dining events. A Cyprus Fair is held once a week offering traditional music, dancing and food.
