History

The first building to stand on the site of the present Post Inn dated back to around 1650. In 1825, the Arlberg pass road was constructed. In 1856, the horse track over the Flexen was widened. In 1884, the Arberg railway was opened and in 1895, work started on the new Flexen pass road, which opened two years later. The road to Lech was completed in 1900 and extended as far as Warth from 1902 to 1908, the opening ceremony was held on 2nd October 1909.

The first Royal Postal service was opened on 31st May 1871. Lech was one of the first Alpine villages to have a telephone connection, and on 22nd October 1924 electric light shone in some of the houses.
