HistoryRohet - the fortified desert home of the descendants of the 16th
century Rathore of the Champawat clan, Thakur Dalpat Singh I. The
"Jagir" of Rohet was bestowed upon him in 1622 by the Maharaja Of
Jodhpur, as a mark of appreciation for his bravery in battle.
Generations of valiant noble-men have built this heritage home where,
notwithstanding the inroads of modernity, aristocratic values are respected.
Rohet Garh is easily accessible by air being situated 40 kms from the
nearest airport at Jodhpur,a 45 minute drive through scenic countryside. It is
on the main highway from Jodhpur to Udaipur and on the way to the famed Ranakpur
temples. Jodhpur can also be easily reached by rail from the metro cities of
Delhi and Mumbai.
Dinner is served by the poolside where the musicians perform in the evening.
