King William Rufus was killed in the New Forest in 1100. The Hotel is pretty new
by that standard. The house only dates from the early 1700s and was remodelled

It is a tranquil and very English setting in 130
acres of immaculate lawns, parkland and woodlands.
In our never-ending pursuit of excellence, we
place great emphasis on the quality and service of our food and wines. Others
have judged the result and bestowed every kind of accolade upon the Marryat
Restaurant.
Despite this international recognition, Pierre Chevillard, Head Chef, never
rests on his laurels. New and even more exciting dishes are continually being
created, always using the finest local seasonal produce such as fish, game and
wild mushrooms. The cooking is a delicious meld of classical cuisine and a
modern, healthy and lighter style. Each tantalising course may be complemented
by a choice of over 500 wines.
