The most famous village, however, is Oia, on the northern side of the island, with the wonderful sunset. Beaches in Santorini are mostly pebbled. Red Beach, Perissa, Perivolos and Kamari are the best organized, however there are many other secluded coves around the island to enjoy some privacy.
