This hotel is exceptional and should set a standard for other 5 star resorts in Greece. There are many hotels in Greece and the well travelled like ourselves can distinguish between the hotels run by locals and the hotels that are run by people who have been to, and worked at similar hotels outside Greece, whether they are local people or not. This hotel is run very well and is at a high standard. A few very minor things that the discerning traveller would expect from a 5 star hotel were missing, but such things will mature to fruition as the hotel gains experience. A touch more attention to the room and a proper night service will put this hotel in the category of flagship hotels that excel to their customers needs.

As we compare with the Atrium Prestige in Rhodos (=excellent hotel), the Cavo Spado is a good 4* hotel but does not merit 5*
